An Adventure Already

It has been quite the experience already! Yesterday began at about 7:15 with a good time with mom in the most comfortable bed ever..which I hope Troy enjoys. I got up about 7:30 to awaken the infamous James Smith, who was sound asleep in the basement. His train ride went well for those of you who were wondering, praise God for that!
I was surprised to hear that Dad was home from work and willing to make me his ultimate oatmeal! Thanks Dad, not sure I ever thanked you for that!
The most unexpected thing happened before I even left the drive-way and this is the main reason I write, here at Ramada Hotel, in OH. I was going to my car for the first time to do some last minute packing (blankets, food, etc.) and I thought it smelt a little...off? Dad thought it was burnt toast, but I definitely just smelt smoke. Dad did as he always does and tried to figure it out, checking just about every cranny and space...then we open the trunk...
...sure enough MY CLOTHES WERE BURNING! I'm still not so sure how, but the light fell off the roof of the trunk and touched the bag that was around my clothes and even though it wasn't on long..must have been long enough. I am down about 10 shirts...one of my very favorites...BUT I do praise the Lord that it happened when it did!! My car still kind of smells, but we bought an air freshener, which seems to help. So that was the only unexpected happening, so far.
We have about 9 hours to go, we're leaving the hotel later then we thought, only because I don't want to unpack some of my things while everyone is home. We're heading out in a little bit to grab a bite to eat and then hit the road!
I guess that's it for now, until I get the Internet there. Thanks for your prayers for safety, praise the Lord we've been safe thus far!
