A bug.

Two weeks ago, I caught a bug. This bug gave me a really runny nose, causing me to use tissue after tissue. I'd call this bug: The Common Runny Nose. TCRN, didn't make me miss any days of work, thankfully, and nothing really came of it, thankfully. TCRN, lasted about 5 days, not bad and just about normal I would say for TCRN.

Thursday and Friday of last week, I was back to my normal self, whatever that is...

Then... In the middle of the night on Saturday (technically early Sunday morning) I woke up coughing. I caught another bug. "Just Great!" I thought as I normally only get sick about once or twice a winter. I knew it wasn't the same bug, because I never had a cough with TCRN bug. So, this new bug, I'll call The Common Cough - for now. With TCC, I didn't think much of staying inside, so I went to church and brunch with James, Ed, and Ed's parents. Monday I went to work an was extra careful of my hands and making sure not to spread TCC - that I thought I had.

Now allow me to rewind a little bit. A friend I work with, was in need of some help. She was finally able to move into her new apartment, but needed some helping doing it. So, since I was feeling, normal, on Friday I told her I could help her. I helped her pack several kitchen cupboards on Friday and on Saturday I helped unpack several boxes into her new place! Boy, I love to pack, unpack, and organize!

Now, back to the bug. Tuesday was a little different. TCC, had developed throughout the night into a pretty wicked sounding cough, but nonetheless it was still TCC, I thought. Though, as I was getting ready for work, I was feeling a little faint, but that's been known to happen to me if I don't have enough liquids, so I started sipping on some tea.
Also, I complained to James that my head was aching terribly
...so were my arms
....and even my eye balls if I looked to the left or right without moving me head.
We both figured that all of the above was because I had slept for at least 12 hours during the last two nights. Hey.. I was tired.

Anyways, with my tea in hand I was off to work, early, to cover a staff's shift who was home with her daughter. Upon arriving at work, I was greeted with "how are you feeling?" I didn't even know they knew I was sick. So I answered, "I'm doing okay, just a cough" they both looked rather relieved and carried on with caring for the kids as I settled in.
As the kids got cozy on their mats and I start mopping the floor, the fruit of the concern came out.

The staff I helped moved on Friday and Saturday was in the ER the night before, feeling very ill. She was told she had a bug, The Swine Flu, but not to worry because she would be feeling much better the next day. She had a cough, the week before. Hmmm..

For the rest of the day, I was not very playful or interactive with the kids, just in case, I too had this bug, TSF! Because I WAS with her Friday and Saturday, AND Saturday night is when I woke up with the cough...

Of course, when I got home I did some research.
Symptoms:
Fever - "I have been feeling rather hot at night, waking up sweating." Maybe?
Cough - "Ah, Yup!" CHECK
Sore Throat - *Swallows* "yeah, a little bit" Maybe?
Runny or Stuffy Nose - "Yes, sometimes runny, sometimes stuffy" CHECK
Body Aches - "Ah, Yup!" CHECK
Headache - "Ah, Yup!" CHECK
Chills - "No..."
Fatigue - "Ah, Yup!" - CHECK
Sometimes Diarrhea and Vomiting - "Thanks be to God, NO!"

Okay, this doesn't really look like TCC to me anymore. I was feeling like I had caught the bug of the year, The Swine Flu.
Then of course I read on to see the Emergency Warning Signs, which after realizing I could CHECK three of them, I could also relate to the already CHECKED symptoms above and since I haven't been feeling more ill than that of TCC or TCRN, I've just sat tight, in my lil bedroom, sipping on peppermint and cinnamint tea, blowing my now sore nose, washing my hands over and over, and... praying this bug doesn't get any worse...

The Things They Say

Remi (3) said about her brother while he was being silling: "He is a crazy head!" Then she stopped to think about what she just said and took a look at us adults. "Crazy head isn't a naughty word, no.." and shakes her head.

Jasmine (6) innocently said, "I really like little girls." after we told Remi that Jasmine would like it if she played with her. - I know it's not really appropriate, but just the fact she was so innocent about it, gave us a bit of a chuckle.

Savannah (3) said with confusion, while I was reading a book to her about the opposites High and Low, "High.....sounds like....hi? Like when you wave hi? Right?"

Shaelin said to me as she pointed to my neck, "You are skinny!" I thought it was awfully nice of her to not call me fat as some kids do without really know what they're saying.

Remi (3) said after I taught her how to play Tic-Tac Toe: "Can we play Pic-Pac Poe again?" I told her the game was called Tic-Tac Toe. "Can we play Pic-Pac Toe again?" Again, I stressed the T, telling her it was Tic-Tac Toe. After a few tries of saying it, she finally said it correctly and we played again. She one.

Julia (2) said while holding chalk close to her mouth "Smoke." - again probably not appropriate, but she hardly says anything so it cracked us up that she knew to say that while "pretending to".

Kyla told me where her daddy works. "He works at Appo" (as in Apple) "oh he does, huh?" "yeah he works at Appo, no...I mean Appobees" "oooooh!! Applebees"

Jasmine (6) says to me as she hands me some play-do "Here, I made toridos!" "Is that a combo of torillas and doritos?" she laughs and says "Oops, I meant torillas!"

Savannah (3) said to her uncle, "you can come to my house, if you don't tickle me, because that makes me go potty!"
