5 Quarts

Oh YUMMY! I love strawberries! There is nothing like a picture perfect strawberry that tastes just like it should! We've been picking some just about every day, the most has been 5 quarts at once. They are coming though and I am ready....to stop eating all the profit. That's been the joke lately, that I'll be James's profit eater. I will do my best to not eat the best ones...maybe.

We're two weeks from the Kids Program kick-off, so be in prayer about that, please.

We went to a wedding last night, it was fun to dance and dress up, AND the food was great!

Most of all today, I missed my dad and I've done some thinking of things I love about him and memories that I have.

Dad used to tickle my cheeks with his eye lashes.
We used to watch Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman and he would blow dry my hair.
Anytime he kissed me his mustache would tickle my cheeks - never saw him a day without it.
He had this beat up truck that we loaded wood into and the floor was falling out...we had to be careful. - James has a trail duster that smells just like it and I think of it every time we drive it to the patch.
Dr. Pepper or "Dr. Pop" has always been his favorite - that's also something I remember often as it's one of James's brother, Nathan's favorite "sodas".
I remember asking "Can I please water the garden today" and he would say yes, only because he knew I wanted to, but knowing it would just dry right up. Telling me that I could stand and water the grass too.

I haven't been able to forget that I'm my daddy's girl, being outside in the field makes me wish he was there sometimes. With his wisdom and knowledge, I'm know he would help us out.
Dad, I'm blessed to have you as a father, an example and a source of love from God. I want to thank you for being the dad that you've been and for guiding me on this path of life we share. Don't forget that I love you, even if we are 1,200 miles apart, my love just grows farther for you. Don't forget the times we've shared and to look forward to the ones we'll be blessed with.

I love you Dad and a blessing you have been!

  1. Cute Ann, I figured you'd be missin your dad today.
It was good to hear your voice last night... it stinks when I realize how seldom we talk... but it sure makes me appreciate your calls more.
Eat a few 'strawbs' for me... I'm sure they are quite TASTEY!

Love you babe. Don't forget to credit the Father we share today... and let Him take care of you.

  4. Hi Anna,
Your parents sent me your blogsite and I'm finally getting around to catching up with you. It sounds like you're having great fun, great challenges and a GREAT amount of work!
I just got an ipod and have been listening to Tom's sermons on it, too...next best thing to being there. :-) Hope your children's work is going well. Can't wait to compare notes in that department.
Thanks for taking time to blog your experience - it was great to read your thoughts and hear your heart.
    Love, Gwen
